In Singapore, the new 200 bioreactor spirulina farm that EnerGaia installed with our partner, Ruyi Ventures, has begun operation! As of September there were 80 tanks operating. These would be used to scale-up production from the remaining tanks. In an exciting new development, EnerGaia sent its Operations Manager, Muhammet Doertkardes, to help inoculate the bioreactors with fresh spirulina paste taken from one of EnerGaia’s farms in Bangkok.
This proved to be a successful way to rapidly start-up spirulina production in tanks even when there is no local laboratory operating, as yet, to produce fresh inoculum. Later in the month, EnerGaia sent its Technology Director, Dr. Ezra Noon-Song, to check-up on the spirulina system’s health and meet with Erica Xu, the primary contact point with our partner at the D’Kranji Farm. We look forward to a successful collaboration there.
